About Dr. Crispell

Dr. Brian Crispell went to undergraduate school at Shippensburg University of PA where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Crispell attended Temple University for his professional education where he earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. He completed his surgical residency training at MCP Hahhamen, Roxborough, and Parkview hospitals in Philadelphia. Dr. Crispell is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. You can find him on their website abfas.org. Dr. Crispell has extensive exposure to reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, and diabetic limb salvage/wound care. He has had training in all types of foot and ankle surgery including training in trauma surgery such as fractures, dislocations, tendon ruptures, and laceration repair, and deformity correction such as bunion correction surgery, flatfoot correction surgery, and hammertoe surgery. Dr. Crispell is trained in treating arthritic conditions requiring joint fusion and/or joint implant surgery.

Dr. Crispell is also certified in pedorthics which is the study of the structure and fabrication of shoes, braces, and orthotics; both custom and pre-fabricated. This certification allows Dr. Crispell to dispense these types of devices in the office. Most other doctors would need to send the patient to another facility in order to receive such a treatment.

Message from the Doctor

I consider myself to be an expert in mobility. I believe that maintaining an extremely active and mobile lifestyle gives me an enormous amount of insight on helping others stay on their feet. I have been a competitive distance runner since 9th grade. Some of my proudest running accomplishments include running the marathon (26.2 miles) in 2:36:44 and placing 1st in the master's age group at the 2016 broad Street 10-mile run in 54:19. I have finished a total of 8 marathons. I have also competed in mountain bike races, duathalons, adventure races, and ultra marathons, and I am an avid backcountry skier. I try to pass what I have learned from my active and mobile lifestyle onto my patients. For example, logging well over 30,000 miles of running throughout the years has provided me a lot of personal experience with overuse injury. These experiences give me a tremendous amount of insight in treating these disorders. It is my goal as a practitioner to give my patients the highest degree of mobility possible. Whether their goal is just being able to stand and walk without pain or completing an ultra- marathon I believe I can help people with all levels of foot and ankle disorders.
